allright i played a little with the values and scales and came across an understanding problem i guess...

i am trying to scale the layers to propper size because when positioning them far into the 100ds of z-values (i used about 300 for the farest layer) i get quite small layersizes and occasionally again some gaps in the knitting process.

I looked at the layer config and the camera config and didn't quite get the far-Z / near-Z / focus distance settings in the camera.
How do this values work and how do they affect the scaling of far positioned objects in comparison to near objects?

Maybe i could save the finnicy position scaling of the layers alltogether by smartly setting the camera somehow ^^

Hello there!

AFAIK, Camera.FarZ + Camera.Transform.Z is the maximum Z of objects that will be actually drawn in the camera
Camera.NearZ + Camera.Transform.Z is the minimum Z of objects that will be drawn in the camera (although this looks wonky... I'll dig in the source code and check one thing yup, works properly.. my bad)
Finally, Camera.FocusDist + Camera.Transform.Z is the Z where objects appear without offset or scale (1:1)

Hey SirenPi,

ok i see. So you mean when i want to focus the camera on the actual size of the foreground i have to scale things in the background up by default otherwise they are going to be scaled down?

hmm if this is the case i have to pre-scale my further away background images up otherwise i get nasty positioning gaps between the layers again :S

Maybe you could leave some (1-2) bleeding pixels in the actual texture and treat your sprites as if they are a little smaller than they actually are?

That way, even if they don't align perfectly, you still get the bleeding to cover the seams
